Coming home from LA yesterday we ran into this guy. We were just around the corner from my house when we spotted him jumping around. He had these , what he called, power stilts on. Said he bought them online, and then he jumped off to burger king.
Here is some random video i found on YouTube this guy was jumping around just like these guys. Maybe not so intense
Waking up early sucks, but today it was or a good cause. We have a new President! Barack Obama, president #44, gave a pretty awesome speech as always. He reached out to those do wrong and told them they were on the wrong side. He told them to unclench their fist and we will talk. He promised to find out what will work and continue to do those things and those that do not work will be gotten rid of. Obama went straight from the inauguration to the oval office to get some work done. It reminded me of that new south park, haha, you should try and catch it on comedy central it was hilarious. On the more serious side lets just all hope for a little change. On a less serious note it was our good friend DiRo’s birthday this past weekend. We went to dinner over at the Yard house. I got a big ass beer, in a tall ass glass; it was a little awkward to drink but tasted good going down. I chipped in with a few other friends to get DiRo his present. We got him a giant rubber fist from a sex shop. My friends and I are big on gag gifts and it can’t get more gag then that (pun intended). Happy Birthday MAN! Hope you enjoy your gift. Remember fist can be a verb!
Back on the clothing side were busy at work with a new season for Elated. As some of you may notice as we grow so do our graphic work. When I started this company the designs were done in Microsoft paint. Thank god I finally got the adobe creative suite. I learn new things every day as far as art and design go, and that is reflected in the art that appears on our shirts. Not only am I a designer but I also do the printing for this company as well as many others. This gives me a chance to experiment with different techniques and materials. Over the holiday break I have been experimenting with bleach and the effect it has on different style garments. Here is a little sneak of what may be coming
That’s Travii from aged out rocking his Christmas gift. I’m still unsure on the direction Elated’s next season will take but guaranteed anything we come up with will be epic.
Devin and I made a trip to the Aged Out compound this evening to discuss some business. We do all of their printing so we were discussing feature projects they have in the works and the direction they are headed in. We also talk about our appearance at MAGIC in a few weeks and our collaboration shirt that is still in the works. Trust me its going to be epic, especially for all of our Long Beach locals.
If your Aged Out’s friend on myspace I’m pretty sure you noticed their new default picture. It’s a custom vinyl toy hand painted by Kevin himself. I’m not the biggest fan of these toys but the craftsmanship is pretty dope. If you haven’t seen it here it is...
We also got into a pretty heated discussion about the recent tragedy in Oakland. Being from southern California I find myself at times not paying much attention to the news out of our area. The shooting of 22-year-old Oscar Grant was first brought to my attention in Mr. Johnny Cupcakes when he talked about the riots that were occurring in his blog. Man it a very F**Ked up situation, I will let the video speak for itself.
This just goes to show you how crazy some people can be. Remember to watch your back, cant trust everyone in power.
This blog was so funny i had to share it with everyone on the Elated Blog. This past weekend my good friend Terrence sent me a text message saying "Despite popular belief, jumanji is not as fun 2 play as the movie portrays it. Its not as treacherous either". This was random right? I didn’t think much around the message, if you know Terrence random funniness is a common occurrence. You can read all about this experiment by clicking HERE. The only bad thing is that I admitted I had just watched the movie. Red the responses it will be worth your time.
The time has finally come. It seems like just yesterday that our good friend Marco got accepted to San Francisco State University. You might recognize Marco from most the events we go to. He the man making you feel bad for not buying a shirt, but feeling great for picking one up. Marco asked me to help him move up there, So Monday morning we loaded up the little u-haul trailer and headed up north. What a long drive I think all of us got a little testy toward the end of the drive. We arrived at Marcos New house around 10, we were all pretty tired but we unloaded to truck anyways. The house actually turned out to be really dope. It was a four bedroom, three baths, and it had a sauna! Marco is one luck bastard. We didn’t do much up there other then sticker bomb the SFSU campus. Any new people checking us out from San Francisco I just want to say what’s up and welcome. Marco will be missed down here but he is bring elated up there… Be on the look out.
